The Future of Server Analytics is Here

What if your Hytale server could tell you a story? What if every kill, every death, every moment of glory was captured and shared in real-time?

Today, we're making that a reality.

We've just deployed HyBeast SmartEvents - a complete real-time event tracking and analytics system that transforms how you experience HyBeast. From live toast notifications popping up as players slay monsters, to comprehensive statistics pages, to automated daily journals that chronicle your adventures - this is next-level stuff.

Live Kill Feed Notifications

Ever wondered what's happening on the server right now? Now you don't have to wonder.

Real-time toast notifications appear in the bottom-right corner of every page on the HyBeast website, showing you kills as they happen:

  • Watch as players battle through dungeons
  • See who's dominating the mob slaying leaderboards
  • Get notified when epic battles unfold
  • Toggle notifications on/off with one click

The notifications are intelligently staggered (4-5 seconds apart) and stack beautifully - no spam, just smooth updates. They persist across page navigation and remember your preferences.

How It Works

Behind the scenes, our custom SmartEvents mod running on the Hytale server captures every combat event in real-time:

  1. Player kills a mob → Event captured with killer name, victim type, timestamp
  2. Event stored in MySQL → Instantly queryable from anywhere
  3. Website polls every 60 seconds → Fetches new events via API
  4. Toast notifications appear → Oldest events first, beautifully animated

It's like having a live sports ticker, but for Hytale combat.

The Stats Page: Your Command Center

Head over to hy-beast.com/stats and witness the power of real-time analytics:

Server Overview

  • Total Players - Everyone who's ever joined HyBeast
  • Total Kills - Every mob that's met its end
  • Total Deaths - The brave (or reckless) who fell in battle
  • Active Today - Who's been online in the last 24 hours

Leaderboards

Top Mob Slayers - Who's racking up the most kills? The leaderboard updates in real-time as players battle through the world.

Most Damage Dealt - Raw damage numbers don't lie. See who's truly devastating enemies.

Most Deaths - Hey, someone's gotta die to those dungeon bosses. We track the brave souls who charge in first.

Recent Activity Feed

A live feed of everything happening on the server:

  • Kills with mob names
  • Player deaths with what killed them
  • Server connections

All with relative timestamps that update automatically.

Death Tracking That Actually Works

One of our biggest technical achievements: accurate death tracking.

When you die, we capture:

  • Who killed you - The actual mob name (Spider, Skeleton_Fighter, etc.)
  • How you died - The damage source
  • When it happened - Precise timestamps

No more mysterious deaths. The stats page shows exactly what took you down.

Automated Daily Journals

Here's where it gets really cool. Every day, an automated system generates a Daily Journal blog post that chronicles everything that happened on the server:

  • Player activity summary
  • Notable kills and deaths
  • Server milestones
  • Community highlights

It's like having an AI historian documenting the saga of HyBeast. Check out today's journal: Daily Journal - January 19, 2026

The Tech Stack

For the technically curious, here's what powers this system:

SmartEvents Mod (Server-Side)

  • Custom Hytale mod written in Java
  • Hooks into the ECS (Entity Component System) for death events
  • Captures kills, deaths, damage, connections, and more
  • Stores everything in MySQL with JSON event data
  • Tables created on-demand for each event type

Website Integration

  • Next.js 16 with App Router
  • SWR for smart data fetching with 60-second refresh
  • Sonner for beautiful toast notifications
  • React Context for state management
  • localStorage for preference persistence and deduplication

The Kill Feed Provider

Our custom React provider manages:

  • Queue-based toast processing
  • Staggered display timing (4-5 seconds between toasts)
  • Deduplication via unique kill IDs
  • Toggle state persistence
  • Graceful handling of missing data

What's Next?

This is just the beginning. We're planning:

  • Player profiles with detailed personal stats
  • Achievement tracking for milestones
  • PvP statistics when player-vs-player events happen
  • Zone discovery tracking as you explore the world
  • Weekly/Monthly leaderboard resets for competitive seasons

Try It Now

  1. Visit any page on hy-beast.com
  2. Look for the bell icon in the bottom-right corner
  3. Watch the notifications roll in as players battle
  4. Check the stats page at /stats
  5. Read today's journal at /blog

The server is live. The events are flowing. Your adventure is being chronicled.

Welcome to the future of HyBeast.
