My First Mod: Bamboo Eskrimas!

I'm excited to announce my very first custom mod for the HyBeast server - Bamboo Eskrimas!

For those unfamiliar, Eskrima (also known as Arnis or Kali) is a Filipino martial art that emphasizes stick and blade fighting. These bamboo fighting sticks are lightweight, fast, and perfect for players who prefer a quick, agile combat style.

What's Included

The mod adds a brand new weapon to the game:

• Bamboo Eskrima Sticks - Dual-wielded bamboo fighting sticks
• Custom 3D Model - Unique blocky model that fits perfectly with Hytale's aesthetic
• Original Texture - Hand-crafted bamboo texture with wrapped handles
• Crafting Recipe - Craft your own using bamboo materials
• Maximum Durability - These sticks are built to last!

The Development Process

Creating this mod was surprisingly fun and straightforward! Here's what I did:

1. Started with the Daggers - Used the existing dagger weapon as a base
2. Custom Model - Modified the model to create the distinct eskrima stick shape
3. New Texture - Created a bamboo texture that looks natural and fits the game's style
4. Tweaked Stats - Adjusted the durability to maximum for extended combat sessions
5. Added Recipe - Created a simple crafting recipe so everyone can make them

Why Eskrimas?

I've always been fascinated by Filipino martial arts, and I thought it would be cool to bring a piece of that culture into Hytale. Plus, who doesn't love dual-wielding weapons?

The bamboo material makes them feel lightweight and natural, perfect for the adventure-style gameplay we have on HyBeast.
